NORC raceway
NORC raceway is situated just outside bishop auckland (county durham) and caters for 1/8th scale rallycross and truggy racing, the track runs the latest amb timing gear and has onsite toilets and refreshments on racedays, with a full race calendar norc is fast becoming one of the top tracks in the country. The club was formed in March 2007 and soon after land was secured just outside bishop auckland to build the norc raceway. The layout was designed and work commenced, three months past and with some serious work the norc raceway was born. The track surface is a mixture of astro turf and brickwork and provides an excellent all year round racing surface for beginers and seasoned racers. We have a full size rostrum, raised pit lane, the latest digital timing gear and plenty of parking space that will accomodate camping if needed. We are just about to start our second summer series with bashdays most sundays and wednesday night throughout the summer.
Drivers off all abilities are encouraged to come down to the track and get involved, the first summer and winter series we have run have been a great success and a lot of fun, which is what its all about, and norc raceway has been selected to host a round of this years brca national truggy championship, we are affiliated to the British Radio Car Club and through our committee the club is run to a set of rules and guidlines that greatly emphasises safety and havin a fun days racing.
